A train moves without a driver at a speed exceeding 100 kilometers per hour

Videos shared on social media showed that the train skips several stations at high speed.

Reports say the train ran without a driver from Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir to Hoshiarpur district of Punjab

The railway says that the train stopped and no one was hurt.

Officials told The Press Trust of India news agency that the incident occurred between 07:25 and 09:00 local time (01:55 and 3: 30 GMT) on Sunday.

The 53-car train, carrying stone chips , was on its way to the Punjab region of Jammu

Officials say it started moving on the railway tracks slope after the train driver and his assistant got off.

The train moved at a speed of almost 100 km / h and managed to cross about five stations before stopping.

Shortly after being alerted about the moving train, officials closed the railway crossings along its route.

Finally, the train stopped after a railway official put wooden blocks on the tracks to stop the train,"he said.

Wooden blocks helped reduce the speed of the train.

Officials said they were trying to determine the exact cause of the train's movement after it stopped in the Kathua area to avoid such accidents in the future.
