A new wave of increases: fuel prices are witnessing a significant increase in Turkey

Fuel prices in Turkey are heading towards a new wave of rises, as diesel prices are expected to witness an increase of up to 1 lira and 30 piastres per liter, starting from Thursday, March 21, 2024. With this adjustment, the price of diesel will be 43.20 TL per liter in Istanbul, 44.01 TL in Ankara, and 44.21 TL in Izmir.

The increases are not only limited to diesel, but gasoline will also see an increase of 1 lira and 50 piastres per liter, raising its price to 43.46 TL in Istanbul, 44.28 TL in Ankara, and 44.5 TL in Izmir. So far, no change in LPG prices has been announced.

Fuel prices in Turkey are determined based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, in addition to changes in the dollar exchange rate, as determined by refineries. The prices applied by distribution companies show slight differences between companies and cities as a result of competition and freedom in the market.
